Staging a home for resale is a fine balance of design and merchandising. Plume’s aim is to add style but not bring too much personality or character into our staging. Character is great for interior design geared for a particular client; but our staged designs aim to have a broader appeal, as to be merchandised to a neighborhood tastes. Home staging is not decorating and it is not simply un-cluttering. Home staging is merchandising a home for potential buyers. The object of home staging is in our mission statement:
“..to create emotional connections between buyers and homes by showcasing a home’s best features and demonstrating a home’s full potential.”
A home’s full potential is demonstrated by first and foremost the use of space and showcasing the best features of a home. A professional stager will accomplish much of this by arrangement of simple furniture and accessory vignettes, color choice, and depersonalizing the space. Continue reading
